19 December 2010:
FCm Travel Solutions Greater China is tapping into the Hong Kong meetings, incentives, conferences and events (MICE) market with the launch of its sister conference and event management brand, CiEvents.
One of the world’s largest full-service event management businesses, CiEvents specialises in conferences and exhibitions, meetings and special events, product launches, incentive programs, road shows, group travel, and award and gala dinners. The company’s services include event and programme design, contracting and management of all event logistics (including venues, hotels and flights), registration and onsite management, and post-event leisure tours.
CiEvents strives to ‘add magic’ to every corporate event with innovation, professionalism and creative flair, to achieve each client’s unique goals and maximise their return on investment.
In Hong Kong, CiEvents is headed by Business Director Carly Lewis, who has many years’ experience in the US and Hong Kong MICE sectors, and will oversee the highly personal and tailored approach to client servicing.
David Fraser, General Manager for FCm Greater China, said Ms Lewis would focus on making CiEvents’ services available to FCm’s client base while targeting opportunities in the broader Hong Kong corporate market.
“With China continuing to grow in the world market, MICE activity in Hong Kong has increased over the past 12 months in particular. Because it is an international destination, Hong Kong has rebounded well from the global downturn and meeting and incentive activity is gaining momentum here,” he said.
“During 2010 we have experienced growing demand for MICE services in Hong Kong from large and multinational companies in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, banking and finance, entertainment, professional services, and luxury goods.”
“The majority of interest is coming from corporates who are based locally and conduct their events within Hong Kong or the region. We are also working with our global clients to support their Hong Kong events, as many of them have customers who are drawn to its vibrance, city skyline and quality of hotels and conference facilities.”
“CiEvents has operated in Shanghai since 2008, but with the growing demand for MICE services in Hong Kong we have relocated the business from Shanghai to Hong Kong, which we see as the future hub for event management activity in the region,” Mr Fraser said.
“The CiEvents team features specialists who are experienced in both event and travel management, so they can provide an end-to-end service to our clients and ensure their events are completely seamless. We plan to build the capacity of our team over the coming months.”
